Elderberry Tincture

$65.60

Elderberry (Sambucus Nigra) refers to the fruit of the elder tree, a flowering plant native to Europe, North America, and certain parts of Asia. The Elderberry fruit is small, dark purple-black in color, and grows in clusters on the Elder tree. It has a sweet and tangy flavor and is commonly used to make syrups, preserves, and wine.

Elderberry has been used for centuries in traditional medicine for its potential health benefits and culinary purposes. Traditional uses include the common cold, coughs, nasal congestion, feverish conditions, the flu, and as a diuretic.

Elderberries are rich in antioxidants, triterpenes, vitamins, and minerals. Flavonols like quercetin and kaempferol are mast cell stabilizers and provide antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity. The triterpenes ursolic and oleanolic acids have been studied for their anti-microbial properties.

Elderberry has been shown in scientific studies to:

  • Support healthy upper respiratory function

  • Provide antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity

Elderberry InfoSheet
